Center Line Community Forum

Center Line Community Forum offers the Sturgeon Bay and greater Door County community access to local, regional and national speakers on topics designed to strengthen community, encourage civic engagement and formulate vision for smart growth. The series focuses on inviting the best thinkers of today to share creative ideas that have been successfully implemented across the country. It celebrates the preservation of our unique identity and our history while exploring ways to proactively embrace the challenges and opportunities of the future. It is meant to spark ideas and generate discussion.

Center Line Community Forum will address topics of interest to the community such as the ones listed below. Some events will feature individual speakers, others will feature organizations or panels. The basic format will include a lecture or panel discussion followed by a time for questions. It is hoped that these sessions may generate “spin-off” events such as a next-day breakfast group or reading club.

Possible topics:
Encouraging young entrepreneurs
Repurposing of historic structures
Smart Growth
Incentives for small businesses
Makers Space
Green technology and development
Integration of outside cultures

Center Line is co-chaired by Kelly Avenson, Charolette Baierl and Laurel Hauser. Steering Committee members include Nancy Aten, Bret Bicoy, Kayla Bissen, Laurel Brooks, Rob Burke, Dan Collins, Heidi Hodges, Caitlin Oleson, Jeremy Popelka, Shirley Senarighi, Virge Temme and Stephanie Trenchard.
